Tech 808, i was wondering if the tune up you listed for the 257 is the same one copper uses when you have them tune and mod it for 11 meters? Also is there more peaking that could be done to the radio? The 257 i purchased along with a power/filter cord still has some noise in it, sounds like popping sounds.Any ideas or sugestions? Everything is grounded to the battery and hot wire comes directly from the battery. Radio is connected to a texas star 667v . Thanks for any info you may give me. |

Deptuydog, Below are the area's that the Copper Tech aligns per Copper Instruction's. • RX (Receive) alignment per manufacturer specifications • TX (Transmit) alignment per manufacturer specifications • PLL Synthesizer alignment per manufacturer specifications Do you have the popping sounds in the Radio when the Texas Star is Not connected to the radio? If you are talking about the TUNE – UP / POWER TWEAKS information that I have listed in the Magnum 257 Review, I personally Do Not recommend anyone performing any Mods or Tuning to any radio that is still under warranty. If you still have the popping sounds with the radio Only connected I would contact Sam Lewis Owner of Magnum International at: 1-800-624-6869 as it would be repaired under the Factory Warranty. Hope this help's, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |
