Transistor amps have a limited envelope when it comes to SWR, consider a valve (tube) amplifier. Valve amps generally run cooler, tolerated high SWR (2.5:1), and have a longer duty cycle (key down) than the current transistorized amps. Many people are intimidated by tube amps, but a friend of mine has a KLV-1000, and it is every bit as good as my Ameritron 811H. You can go 5 channels up or down before you need to re tune. Don't get discouraged too soon, take your time and experiment. Catch me on 27.385 LSB.
