I JUST CHECKED OUT THE POWER SUPPLY I MENTIONED IN A PRYOR MESSAGE. IT SURE IS A BUILT HEAVY DUTY. IT IS BASED ON A GENRAL SIGNAL HS TYPE TRANSFORMER WITH 12/24 V SECONDERY GOING THRU A 24000 MFD 40V DCM TYPE CAP THE SIZE OF A POP CAN. AND A SMALL RESISTOR AND A SMALL CAP. THE ONLY THING IS WHEN I PUT A METER ON IT IT PUTS OUT 16V. HE WANTS $50 BUCKS FOR IT. DO YOU THINK IT WOULD BE POSSIABLE TO JUST PUT A RESISTOR IN LINE TO BRING THE VOLTAGE DOWN OR IS IT EVEN WORTH MESSING WITH? |

You need a voltage regulator and pass transistors,I had an 18 volt secondary and 47000 mfd cap for 23.5 volts, then a voltage regulator and 9 150watt pass transistors for 40 amps continuous, now if you have all these things it probably has an internal adjustment for voltage, mine does and it can go from 10-20 volts,I would get it at that price and add the things missing if nessesary, you see some power supplies are unregulated and for most rf work you need regulation.Bigbob |
