Whats your preferance? Alluminum or fiberglass? The MaCo Alpha V 5/8 and the Imax 2000 will tune from 25-32 mhz. As far as coax, Beldon 9913 or 213 would be my choice. |

The MaCo takes some assembling and tuning but have heard it works very well. The Imax, screw the three sections together and mount it, no tuning required, get the ant at least 1 wave length ( 36') or higher and you'll be talkin. And they are both about the same price. |

Thanks Dx431! Think I might go for the Imax with the Ground Plain Kit perhaps? Next on the agenda...a good Export Home Base to at to the Antenna, possibly a Ranger? |

Ranger is a good choice. Alot of forum members run 'em. The 2980WX and 2995DX are popular radios. I think you'll be happy with either one. Good luck with your new set up.

I'm using the Magnum S-9 with a power supply and could not be happier. Have it hooked up to the IMAX 2000 with RG-213 coax. Radio is barefoot other than being peaked and tuned, and I can talk all over the U.S. And to the U.K. and Australia on occasion. |
