I reciently got a 2950DX (Brand New in box) with frequency conversion done and clairifier opened.
I was wondering what some good mods are for this radio? Channel Guard, what exactly does it do? Clean up the x-mit or receive? I'm assuming just the receive, right? What is this NPC mod? By the way, I want to keep this radio as clean sounding as possible, not a splatter box to tick off my neighbours. This will be used in a small base set-up with a palomar magnum high drive amp and an antron 99 and ground plane straped to the chimny. System is not set up yet as I don't have the right now. But will in the next few weeks.

The 2950 dx can be moded but remember your working with SNT parts even installing a channel guard is not easy but can be done. The CG cleans up receive splatter has no effect on transmit.
I had both a 2950 and 2950 dx and a 5054 dx for 6 meters .......the 5054 was a nice radio i should have keept it.
