My Uniden scanner can pick up the 6 meter band from 50.0 to 54.0. It always stops on 52.600 but never anywhere else. I never hear anyone talking at that frequency, but it stops there as if it were a repeater sending out a signal. 6 Meters doesn't use repeaters like 2 meters does, does it? Thanks. Keith |

Keith, Yes, the 6 Meter Band has repeaters just like the 10/2/1.25 Meter Bands and the 70/33/23 Centimeter Ham Bands. My Repeater Directory is not the Current one but from 2003-2004 and for your area it shows, Alt/Marietta - OUTPUT 53.0900 INPUT - 52.0900 Atlanta - OUTPUT 53.1500 INPUT 52.1500 They could have added a New Repeater in your area. Maybe someone with a ARRL Repeater Directory will have more up to date information for you. My 2003/2004 ARRL Repeater Directory shows 27 6 Meter Repeaters in GA. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Thanks guys. It stops all the time on that 52.600, but I have never heard anyone yet. Of course, off of a rubber duck antenna, what can you expect. Keith |

keith, if your not hearing anything that sounds like an actual signal, your scanner may be locking on a "birdie" or internally generated frequency.Uniden usually publishes the birdie frequencies for each of its scanners in the back of the users manual. tech291 CEF#291 kc8zpj |
