Radiodude,

Try Regular Telephone Hard wire like the Phone Company uses to wire your house phone jacks.

6 wire and only 3/16 diameter
White/Blue/Green/Yellow/Red/Black

Makes it Easy to wire up.

Try Lowes, Menards, Home Depot, Walmart or your local phone repairman.

Hope this helps,

Lon

Doesn't there need to be a sheild? One could use a quad microphone cable for pro audio purposes if you only need 4 conductors, or DMX lighting cable for more conductors.

I've used 8-wire to make a mic 'extension cord'. Wired the mic plug to 5 of the wires and wired a mini-8 speaker cord/plug to 2 others. And on the other end a mic jack and a mini-8 jack. Plug one end into the radio and ext. speaker jack then pass the 75' cord through the window out to the fire pit in the back yard and plug in the mic and a speaker. Works great if you don't need to change channels.

Viking,

GREAT IDEA!

Since I never change channels from 13/27.115, I forsee a Long Extension in the making for our BBQ Grill and to use when sitting on the patio.

Hey, come to think of it, I picked up a 10 foot roll of straight mic cord at an estate auction. Send me an email if your still interested.
