Is it a good idea to use "Gun Tight" on the screws (etc) this time, while we are replacing and checking screws, nuts, and bolts for wind damage? I mention "Gun Tight" because I have some, I think it is essentially high grade "Lock Tight".

The only problem will be if you have to get it apart. |

If you use one of these products and can't get what ever apart later use some heat from a soldering iron or torch to get the Loctite to release. The blue Loctite will usually come apart with normal tools but the red may need some heat. |

i would not recommend using loc tite or similar products on your antennna. they are non conductive and could make a high resistance connection. you're better off using nylock nuts on the bolts and star washers on the screws. also use "ox-guard" or "penetrox" on all your connections. do not underestimate the importance of doing this step. matt |
