1861, Sorry never used them before. We use the Wilson 1000 or 5000 Antennas and never found we needed heaver / stronger magnet's. I am sure someone here in the forum has used them and can tell you the overall size of them. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Tanks Lon , I knew you use the Wilson,s ,I wanted to try a Predator 10k , so i knew I would need more than the single 5" mag I have . |

1861 I have one and you can almost run a 102" whip so there is no problem with the 10 K but your going to have the stick 2 of the mags rite next to the sunn roof and i think it mite fit with a little hang over ! HOPE THIS HELPS !!! Allagator

there is a small 1 by 'proam', covered in plastic, it's 3 magnets are tight together, so it's about 10.5" per side or so. i don't use that one. i use the wider spaced magnets, about 12" per side. it kinda looks like the 1 made by mfj, except it's raised on fiberglas spacers a couple inches. it came with a ball mount with SO239 connector on bottom, but i have since replaced it with the predator lug-type mount. grounding is better. when i set this mount towards the front of my durango's roof, it holds fine with the predator 10k 22" dual coil. towards the rear, the raised notches in the roof are about 1/4" too close together to get all 3 magnets perfectly tight to the roof & rough roads & high speeds have caused the mount to lift. so for highway travel, i either put the mount more forward, or tie it to the roof rack-it can still fall over, but it won't blow off. |

oh yea-coax. the proam uses cheap rg58. the 1 i have came with rg8x & the tightest braid i ever saw. rfi to the truck & virtually all noise from the truck & atmosphere was eliminated vs my previous coax. nevertheless i replaced it with 9913 double shield to be on the safe side with my davemade m400. at 900 watts, there is no rfi to the truck. |

I've used the 4 mag. with a 102 whip at 80 mph no problem on my truck roof and no creap either,it'll hold a full size star-duster @ 45 mph,but stay away from overheads, with a fish line guy from the hood then same as above, but it's way too tall to be practical, but makes a good remote base.Bigbob |
