Ok, does anyone know anything about an RCI-2970 radio. It seems to be a Ham radio with FM, AM, Upper side band, Lower side band, CW, and PA. I recently aquired this at an estate auction along with a Cobra 29 LTD Classic. Also if anyone knows where I can get a manual for the ham radio. |

yup. manuals can be optained rangerusa.com under tech support. the ones from rangerusa will be dx versions but they will fine for what you need them to do. good little radios. they can be a bit fragile if you run them mobile and dont take care of them. i myself have never had a problem. if you dont like the orange dispay get a 100 k ohm resistor and place it before the first light in series and than use 2 5mm leds for the display, than get a handfull of 3mm leds for they keypad. in good shape the 2970's go for between $175 and $275. i sold one 4 years ago with blue leds and basically like new for $405 on ebay. |

Up until I saw this post recently, I'd never even heard of a RCI 2920. What does one look like? |

haha, yea, sorry about that. I didnt type it right in the title, and there was now way to edit the post. But I did get it right in the subject, It was supposed to be a RCI-2970. Well, I hate to say it, but Ive decided to sell the ranger. I just dont have room for a radio that size. That thing is an awesome radio, but its just not feasible for me to use. Id also need a lisence to use all of its features, which I dont see myself getting anytime soon. It works great, transmits and recieves good. Im thinking of putting it on ebay. |
