Does anyone know the frequency range of a PAL VFO? I just "inherited" a SBE Trinidad with a PAL VFO attached. However, I'll have to drive a couple of hundred miles to pick it up, and I want to be sure it will likely cover frequencies I use before I spend the gas money to go get it. My aunt said that the radio worked fine, but she is too blind to make out the little numbers on the VFO... :-( Thanks! |

The original PAL Vfo dial started at channel 13, and went up to 27.545 or so. The later "VFO PLUS" dial started at channel 1 and went channel 39 or so. The most popular "mod" to these was a switch and capacitor to extend lower channel coverage. If it has an unmarked toggle switch on the front, that's probably what it's for. 73

Thanks 2600! I'll probably make the drive, then. |
