A friend of mine just purchased a Varmint xl-600 from e-bay for a base amp. The amp says mobile linear. Is this strictly a 12 volt dc box, or am I reading into the description wrong? can it run on 120 ac? I run all mobile so not real familiar with tube-type boxes. Did they actually make a tube-type mobile??? |

Brewer Labs made the Varmint amps, they made a XL-600 in a base and a mobile. It should have on the front base or mobile, and the base unit is HEAVY, big transformer. Only way the mobile would run base is on a BIG power supply or battery. And like all the old tube type mobile amps, get ready for a big high pitched hum when you key that baby that's heard on both ends. |
