i have a palomar 450 and its been working great untill a few days ago.what i did is i put 2 30 amp fuses inline with it one on the neg side and one on the pos side both going to the car battery.but a few days ago when i key up with it it blows the fuse on the pos side only.it only does it when i key up if i leave the amp on it wont blow the fuse at all and it never blows the fuse on the neg side at all.kinda of strange since i have had this amp for about 7 months with no problems untill the other day.im wondering if its the radio doing it to the amp or if its something else?im using a hr 2510 with it.and the amp is a high drive amp and i really dont get it seeing ive used it all these months with no problems untill the other day. |

i forgot to mention the day i started to blow fuses was the day i put my 102" steal whip on my car so for some reason i think it may not be able to handle the wattage 400 watts or so.i had a 5 foot firestick on before that could handle 1000 watts i think ill put it back on and see what happends. |

Freebird, Check your Coax or your Radio or the Amplifier. I have put 2KW thru a Stainless Whip before with NO Problems, It would not be the 102" Whip causing your problems with only throwing 400 watts into one. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Freebird, If your Coax Jumper & Antenna Coax is Good then the Problem is in your Radio or Amplifier. or Antenna what is your SWR reading with just the Radio going to the antenna without the Amp in line? Hook another radio up to the Amp and see if it Still blows fuses, if it does then your AMP is the one with the problem. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |
