I'll try posting this here to see if I can work up a response. Didn't work so well in the open forum. Anyways...Can my Palomar 300 be modified to work on ssb? thanks for any replies |

most " SSB " on amps is done by adding a cap to slow up the drop out of the relay you can do this your self. |

ashtray, try experimenting with capicitors of same voltage rating but lower capacity to shorten the delay time for relay dropout. |

sorry for the "Delayed"reply ashtray, just caught back up with this thread.I installed a 680uf/25volt in my palomar250(auto ssb) to get a better delay.the + side of the cap connects to the emitter of the switching transistor and the - goes to ground.you can also add a switch to cut it in and out.for shorter delay use a lower uf cap, longer delay use a higher uf. tech291 CEF#291 kc8zpj

I have a Palomar 250 Elite and want to add a switch to the cap so that I can turn off the delay when not running SSB. Does anyone know which cap it is? I'm only at home for today before I hit the road again and would like to know so that I can have a CB shop do it. Thx. |
