Hi all, I'm looking to buy a basic "plug and play" type of amp. By that I mean I don't want to have to modify the radio and drop or increase the wattage, rather go with the stock 4 watt wattage, and not worry about blowing the amp up if the wattage swings just a tiny bit high. I'm considering the Palomar Elite 300, but am opened to suggestions... I don't want to spend a whole bunch of money, and dont need tons of wattage, just a boost. Thoughts on the elite or others in this price range? Are modifications required to use the amp?

Paper765, I would suggest looking at one of the Texas Star Amplifiers which would be your Basic Plug & Play Amplifiers with a 4 watt radio. Hope this helps, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Tech808- Don't they need modification? Thought they all came as xmitters or something these days, and required modification to become an amp. If I buy one, will Copper do the mods? Is that extra? The palomar elite 300 isn't a "plug and play?"

Paper765, If you buy your Amplifier from Copper it is READY to "Plug and Play". If you buy it from someone else then Yes it will need to be modified. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |
