Bluegrass, It could be your antenna has problems and just not picking up the signal. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

This is many months later but could be 2 things I have run across. First if you have a low pass filter in line it will attenuate the 162mhz signal and second if you have a wattmeter in line the weather freq may not pass that either. I guess I'd look at anything you have added in the coax which may not pass the vhf freq. Mike |

Funny, I have my KLV hooked up now so I no longer receive the weather channel that operates in my area. If I take the KLV out of line it works and receives it just fine - Kinda Weird but for some reason the KLV does not allow it through. I DO however occasionally get the darned warning beep that scares me half the time and makes my wife yell at me the other half. In fact - ANY WAY to turn this feature OFF ??? I agree, take things out of line and see if that helps. Tim CEF-634 |

Follow the wires from the tiny speaker inside the 696. It terminates to a 2 pin plug on the board where the 5 front switches are. Carefully unplug it. Weather will still work out the front speaker but no more alert tone. Mike |
