This just ran through my head, Please humor me. Grant Xl recieve trans. 2sc1674 can be upgraded to a 2sc2999 for better "ears". Heres the dumb ? Would running two 2sc2999 inline give you really BIG "ears" or just defeat the whole purpose. Yes, I am an idiot. Again please humor me. I would love to hear every one, as I am tired of being an alligator station, no offense to those that enjoy being "gators" its just not for me. Thanks, sg569 |

you are not an idiot. an idiot would assume he was right without asking questions. the answer is no, unfortunately. running two transistors is just going to mess everything up. BTW, if you are thinking of doing the transistor change, (just one now!) it works great. you WILL notice the difference. matt |

How do you meen IN LINE ? you can cascade them but it would be a night mare to do. I just ordered some 2sc2999 and will be changing out a 1674 rf stage soon when i do i'll measure it and see what change it makes. On my lincoln it brought the noise floor ( LOS ) down from .4 UV to .2 uv |

Well thanks Kid, At least someone in this world doesn't think I'm an idiot; either that or you don't know me well enough. lol. Bruce, by in line, I mean one into the other, or I believe in series. What do you mean " cascade" I've never heard of that before, I've heard of series, and paralell, but never of cascade. And just how would that be done?? Thanks, And if y'all haven't noticed; YES, I am very curious. sg569 |
