i just got my top one antenna in the mail the other day. (ordered from Copper of course!)
i put the antenna together in my house just to see how it all went together. i have to say i am very happy with this antenna and i havent even screwed in the coax yet. i found the hardware to be quite sufficient, although i would recommend putting on a "nylock" nut after the nut provided.

my question is: my antenna did not come with the bolt for tightening down the two horizontal whips on the top section. i dont mind buying a bolt for it myself but i need to know the size. as in: #10X32 or 3/8X24 etc. also need to know the length of the bolt. thanks in advance.

well i answered my own question. the bolt size is 6mm. you could use a #12 coarse threaded bolt but since this antenna is made overseas, the metric fits better. i used an allen head set screw so that there was no head sticking out above the hole. im not sure if this is the right kind of bolt or not so im still interested to hear from anyone who has one of these and can tell me what the bolt looks like.

A grub screw with allen head drive is what they come with normally. Check your packaging and see if it backed out in shipment or see if it may have escaped out of a small hole in the hardware bag.

Yes. It has no head. The grub screw supplied with the Top One is just over 1/4" long.

cool! the one i found at home depot is about 1/2" long and sticks out the top just a little. it didnt seem to affect the swr though, i hooked up the antenna last night and had a 1.2 on ch. 1 and a 1.4 on ch.40. i am very pleased. this antenna is perfect for my situation because i live in an apartment with no place for an antenna. so i bolted two eve mounts to my truckbed tool box and put a bolt and washers through the floor for a base. it hols a 20ft. mast quite well and if theres wind i can guy it to the bumpers. hope you guys can hear me from las vegas this sunday! cef #410
