Honkytonkman593,

No matter which radio you choose be sure to add a MAGNUM Power Cord w/Filter.

Fords are some of the Worst for Wiper and Fan noise there is.

Onwer's of 94 Explorer and 2004 F-150 Super Crew Box Frame.

Lon, did you notice much difference with these? I have a mondo ignition in my truck and get some noise, NB mostly takes care of it but I know I can get the noise down more. This is on my list for the next copper order, Seems I have been ordering enough lately that I make a list and order at once to save shipping :-)

The noise filters in the above two links will not work with my 95T. The power cord is fixed to the back of the radio with 10 wire and has 30 amp blade fuses farther down, one on each line. Yes, my Ford F-350 Super Duty diesel makes a gaggle of noises the worst being the a/c fan. What does Copper offer for a fixed cord unit and does anyone have a opinion regarding the 6900 F-150 versus the 95 T?

I am told the Ranger is better made, takes more shock from the road but the audio makes ones voice sound lower, just one mans opinion. Wish I could test the two.

The 95T has a lot of backround noise but a better display in my opinion. Is the Ranger quieter? Thanks very much.

the galaxy 95t uses a SLIGHTLY different version of the ept6900-10z chassis then the rci6900. the general consensus is the 6900 version has the better rcv & the galaxy has the better xmit. they labeled the boards the same # at ranger, yet built 'em with different parts. hmmmm? surface mount makes modding 'em a difficult task.
my preference would be the 6900, but when i made the final decision, i bought an S9. i use it as a '2nd' radio, my mobile uses a grant xl 99% of the time. am 100% satisfied with performance of S9. though some may claim 'not so', i think the S9 has just about the BEST receive out there, definitely better then the 95t or 6900. as for the S9 not doing 150 watts, no biggie, an add-on amp suits me just fine

Hi Pat,
Thanks again for sharing your info. I am looking to match the humble sucsess of my 95T and the only way to beat it is to reduce the backround noise which could take me down a lot of roads.

I don't mind an amp either, just looking for the right radio to amp up since there is no place I know of to test drive a radio. I am told some of the S-9's have front end issues that when adressed, are permanently fixed and leave me with a top of the line radio. Since I modify my other radios I have no problem paying to get the S-9 right as well. I will look very hard at the S-9 then on your word. If thereis abetter model, please let me know and thanks again.

Chrisdey, Magnum is supposed to come out with a higher powered S-9 sometime in 2006. I think it will be about 80 or 90 watts. You might want to wait for it.
