I have a question that I read on one site that is supposed to be for a Grant XL and Cobra 148 GTL here is what was printed .... Resistor no. #180 is a 270 ohm, metal oxide 1 watt resistor..this is the limiting resistor which cuts current to bias regulator transistor Q37..R180 can cause TX audio distortion due to limiting power output and causing final bias to pull negative. Place jumper across R180. Ok what I would like to know is can anyone explain Final Bias? and has anyone ever done this mod? What did it do? Is it safe?.... Thanks |
