IVE NOTICED THAT ALOT OF TECHS USE TONE GENERATORS AND EVEN SEEN THEM RECOMENDED ON THE RANGER WEB PAGE FOR TRANSMITTER ALIGNMENTS quote: 2950 Transmitter Alignment: 1.Connect an audio generator to pin 2 and ground (pin 1) of the Mic connector. The Mic gain should be fully counterclockwise. Set generator 30mV RMS, 1KHz sinewave. Set mode selector to LSB. I SEE THESE ARE KINDA PRICY FOR A NOVICE SO I FIGURED I WILL LOOK ON THE INTERNET AND SURE ENOUGH I FOUND A TONE GENERATOR THAT YOU CAN DOWNLOAD FOR FREE AND IT WORKS ONLY THING IM NOT SURE ABOUT IS THE RANGER SAYS 1KHz SINEWAVE BUT THIS THING READS Hz ONLY AM I CORRECT IN ASSUMING THAT 1000 Hz IS EQUAL TO 1KHz ? ANYHOW I THOUGHT THEY HAD SOME KEWL STUFF ON THE PAGE AS WELL SO HERE IS THE ADDRESS GO THERE AND SCROLL DOWN TILL YOU SEE THE TONE GENERATOR AND CLICK DOWNLOAD I SCANNED IT FOR VIRUS AND IT CHECKED OUT OK ON MY PC BUT DO THE SAME ITS A VERY SMALL DOWNLOAD IF A TECH IN THE FORUM DOES THIS CAN YOU LISTEN AND TELL ME IF THIS SHOULD WORK I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS KEWL AND MAY BE GOOD FOR A NEWBIE FOR MAYBE ADJUSTING AMP POWER ON SSB BY HOLDING THE MIC TO THE PC SPEAKER????? http://www.nch.com.au/action/index.html |
