i just got a palomar 200B and was wondering if sending more volts into it would get more watts out and if so what would be the max on voltage into the unit.....i have a 20 amp ps that goes to 23 volts this is why i'm asking....don't want to burn it up......thanks in advance.....Clark.....oh it has 2 srf 3775's in it |

if it was me I would just leave it. Thats just me, if it aint broke don't fix it. I don't know how many watts your putting out now but chances are that the improvement you will se is slim to none. You would have tp do much more than double your watts to get out any further. To answer your question I have no idea about that amp whether or not it can take it. But if it was me I would just leave it. Just get yourself a good antenna |

were you using the palomar when we spoke on the net sunday afternoon? either way, you were sounding fine in ny, the pdl-2 will add another 1-2 s-units to your already fine signal. doubling voltage MAY double output under perfect conditions, but more than double strain on amps internals. most amps & radios will handle 15 volts before self destructing, don't try anymore unless specifically designed for more(off top of my head, x-force, dave-made, ghost, boudin). pat cef376 |
