Have someone put the ALC limiting transistor back in it for starters and see if that solves the problem. 2sc945 located at tr32

I think the 2sb 754 power regulator is failing. If the radio has been peaked it is possible that this regulator is not holding up. Replace it with a 2sb 817. this should correct the problem. If not, no harm done. The stock 2sb 754 is a 7 amp, 60 watt; the 2sb 817 is a 12 amp 100 watt.

I replace the 754 transistor in all the Galaxy / Ranger radios that I get in. It does wonders. Some others have accused a few of my customers of running a box after this mod. There are a few other tricks to this line of radios that will help it out just by replacing some of the stock components with heavier duty parts.
