Capt, I'd buy any of the Icom 706 series transceivers (used) if I were a Tech looking for a good radio. They all cover 160-10 meters, 6 meters, 2 meters, and the MK2G has 70cm. They can't be beat for the price.... They sound GREAT on AM, too!

Hi Capt, Yes, the Icom 706 MK2G transceivers cover 160-70cm. They do a great job. I've had mine for a couple of years, and have used it all of the bands it covers. As a matter of fact, I just checked in on the 3.862 MHz (75 meter) Magnolia net with it a few minutes ago. Have a great day! |

They are a ham station in a box, just add antennas, and you're gonna need several, lol. |

Capt hook, Just type: ICOM 706MKIIG in your Search Browser on your computer and it will bring up over 2000 hits for it. Hope this helps. Lon Tech808 |

Capt Hook, you need to read the post I did on another one about money. Just send the money to me and I will be glad to spend it for you! Doesn't that sound like a great idea? Ask Bruce and Lon. And yes I would spend it on a new radio! Keith in Atlanta CEF 150 |
