What is involved in clipping one of these and what should I look for to see if it has been clipped? I don't want to clip it just want to know if it has been.

Look to the left of the Forum here and you will see:
Tools
Modification List
Click on Modification List and type in Galaxy DX2517 and you will find all of the Tune Up Information and Mods listed for the Galaxy DX-2517 Radio.
