You could try adjusting the variable resistor for the meter's adjustment, VR-1...it may just need adjustment. |

i would suggest putting an external signal meter on it.. very easy to do.. just tap into one of the diodes an the re-align the meter useing vr-1.. i will look up in my papper work an find which one it was.. i did this to my 2950 an it worked great.. |

Yes. VR-1 adjusts the meter ONLY for AM recieve. The diode for the external meter is diode D-14...you tap the cathode-end (the banded-end)...it is also the same diode in the DX models, for those who want to know. ENJOY! |

thanks inspector! sorry it took me so long to get back to you. i dont have a signal generator, but i do have another radio i could key up. any suggestions on how i would go about this? (picture this, my madison, about 5 watts, connected to an antron 99 on a 5 foot mast anchored in the bed of my pickup. the madison will be on the tailgate. if i can get a friend to deadkey the madison, how far away should i put the 2950 without an antenna to get the equivilent of, say s-5?) any other help is appreciated. |

a ways away.. the best way to do it without a signal generator is to tune it in to a local that you know how they give you.. prefible someone in a base... it won't be exact but it will be dang close.. |

Does anybody know what might be a good external meter to put on a Lincoln? Where would I get one, and where do I connect it in the radio? |
