Gator,1/4 wave is 108.25 inches,full wave is36'1" that is "freespace" measurement. |

write this down Gator, 492/f*n=freespace wavelengh in feet where f is freq and n is number of halfwaves after looking that up a lot of years ago it just stuck with me. |

Allagator Copy and paste this somewhere so you will always have it for a reference. ---------------------- Formulas for Frequency & Wavelength -------------------------------- 1. How do I find the wavelength of a frequency? In meters: 300 divided by frequency in MHz In feet: 984 divided by frequency in MHz In inches: 11,811 divided by frequency in MHz. --------------------- 2. How do I find the frequency of a wave length? 300 divided by wavelength in meters equals frequency in MHz. Example: What frequency has a 6 meter wave length? 300 divided by 6 equals 50 MHz. --------------------- 3. How do I calculate the length of wire I need to build a wire antenna? Full wave: 984 divided by frequency in MHz equals the length in feet. Three-quarter wave: 738 divided by frequency in MHz equals the length in feet. Five-eighths wave: 615 divided by frequency in MHz equals the length in feet. One-half wave: 492 divided by the frequency in MHz equals the length in feet. One-quarter wave: 246 divided by the frequency in MHz equals the length in feet. --------------------- 4. How do I convert meters to feet? Meters multiplied by 3.281 equals an equivalent length in feet. --------------------- 5. How do I convert feet to meters? Feet multiplied by 0.3048 equals an equivalent length in meters. --------------------- Hope this has been of some help to you. Jeff Tech548 |

don't know if it's available from copper or not, but believe it or not guys, lou franklin's 'the screwdriver experts' guide to repair and mod cb's is an EXCELLENT source of basics for those who have enough knowledge to get themselves in trouble every time they plug in the soldering iron! on my 3rd copy & still use it regularly when i forget something or just need to double check. quick & easy reference for transistor pin locations, or diodes, or velocity factor and coax lengths. so much help in such a small package! if allagator had a copy, 548 would have nothing to do!!!!!!!!! |
