I bought this radio from copper with the peak and tune. I asked for it to be turned down to a 2 Watt dead key for use with my KLV 550.
When i Key up it shows 1 watt on the radio meter and swings to 4 watts, is this correct??? The meter on the KLV shows 75 watt dead key and swing to 250+

That's about all the power you want to go into your KLV-550.

You will see more output power when you're using SSB.
