I have a RCI 2980 WX the receive seems to be a tad on yhe weak side. It transmits fine. Is there any thing tnat could be done with it, Or would it be easier to drop a pre amp on it? I checked the other posts on this subject it is not the P.A switch that was on another post. Just thought I would jump in and ask. Thank you Len cef# 189 |

Leonard. Yes, a Pre-amp will work. If you don't have a Signal Generator, go to a channel that's relatively quiet and listen to your speaker while watching your S-meter and try adjusting L-9, L-11, L-12, L-13 and 14 for the loudest and/or strongest receive sound or signal. You may also want to try adjusting L-3, L-5 and L-6. Go over these coils 3 or 4 times in the order that I gave you. Do this in either USB or A/M. Let's see if that doesn't make an improvement on your receiver. Jeff Tech548 |
