What needs to be done to make this radio work on the 11 meter band. I got one that was still in the box and unused, and would like to use it for all my communication needs.
Thanks:

Does an FT-901DM need to be re-aligned after adding the 11-meter crystals on the AUX ports of the band switch?

Anyone with anykind of info on this rig would be greatly apreciated. There is not alot of info on this rig aside from the users and maintanance manuals.

If you try to do it that way, yes.

If you just choose one (or more) of the four 10-meter crystals to 'swap' for a different band, this is much simpler.

Seems to me there's a slug-tuned coil for each crystal, and the slug for the crystal you change will need to get tweaked, most likely.

Odds are it will give you 90% or more of the 10-meter performance without tweaking much else. The farther below 28 MHz you go, the bigger this difference will be. If you tweak the receiver/mixer/driver coils for 27 MHz, the 10-meter bands will be the (slightly) weaker ones.

Check out Yaesu Users Group I think they have a FT-901 manual or two available for NON-COMMERCIAL download. Might be slow, but it's free.
