Tsl001, there is lots of information about different types of amps out there. Basically for CB, you are looking at export amps. Why? Because amps are illigal on CB radio. Now without any lectures (it's your call and I'm not the CB radio police), here are some answers. 1) Straight amps? I'm not sure unless it just means simply "X" number of pills without a driver. Pills are a slang term for the transistors. 2) HD stands for High Drive. Designed for the more powerful radios out there with dual finals that tend to swing higher than a standard or stock CB radio. Also may mean they can handle a higher deadkey. 3) A typical six pill is your "2 driving four". Usually a certain type of transistor(s) driving different (typically more powerful) transistors. With an amp like this, you can get many watts out of even a stock CB. There are various manufactures out there, and levels of quality, and also levels in $$$. Do a search here and throughout the internet and you will see. Also, check around the Copper store and you may see something that peaks your interest. Alsworld |
