What is the dead key on the On the RCI 2990 radio when I get it from the factory with no mods? Should it dead key 20 wats AM. then swing up 80 to 100 watts? Or is it supposed to dead key 50 watts and then swing up? On SSB should it swing to 100 watts. I seem to have a little more power and modulation on AM and was just curious. Thanks Wendy |

Wendy Into a dummyload they will generally show anywhere around what you mentioned. I think it depends on what day of the week that it was assembled. And I don't think I've ever seen two of them produce exactly the same wattage right out of the box. If you drive it too hard with its factory stock setup, they have the tendency of running pretty hot. But when set up correctly, they are easily capable of a 250+ watt output. After a correctly done NPC modification, they are capable of doing twice their stock power with half the heat build-up. Jeff Tech548 |
