Does the super mod for a Connex 3300 work on a 3300hp? Also the ultimate modification bible volume 11 update and vol 8 list this mod for a superstar 3900 will this work in a euro 3900? Could someone describe this mod better for me? those books give a VERY poor illistration to follow. This is the super mod that uses a 51 ohm resistor in series with a (I believe it is a ) 914 diode, and a .01 mf 16v cap located elsewhere. I am sure i got the diode/resistor combo in the right spot, but the drawing is so poor i am not sure bout the cap. |

Semo_rebel The Connex-3900 is nothing more than a stripped-down Galaxy. If it's more modulation you are looking for, there are a couple of ways to get it. Just removing TR-32 will do it but the radio can over modulate when doing this. A better way is to ajust L-33 for maximum RF power. Set high-power deadkey (VR-13) at 8-10 watts and low-power deadkey (VR-12) at 1.5-2 watts. When doing this, be sure to set the High-power first and then set the Low-power. Cut R-249. Remove R-238 and install a 1n4001 to 1n4004 diode in its place with the banded end to the right towards the regulator. As I said above, removing TR-32 will let the radio swing more but can also let the radio easily over modulate. As far as the Euro-3900 goes, the only thing it has in common with the Connex is the number "3900" on its face. They are completely different radios. Jeff Tech548 |

the only thing i said about connex and euro being alike was they had the same super mod in the book. so does most of the galaxies. i had compared the euro 3900 with the SUPER STAR 3900. |
