The are selling (latest version) for around $800 new. The 706 in all versions is a good little multiband, multimode radio. I had one and sold it to pay INS fees and regret having to do so. When I can I'll be buying at leat two more - one for the shack and for in the MG |

KB: You know I have the 706MKIIG. I love this radio, but I do not know what was added with the 'G' model. The face seperates from the body for easier mounting in the car, but I like the size of the actual screen. I can read all the frequencies and multitude of options, which are numerous... |

I also have a 706MkIIG. Good radio, but it's sensitive to excessive heat (can't be just left in the vehicle on a hot day). One other good thing about it is the ability to hook it to a low-power source and be able to transmit QRP with its variable power. Lots of features, and in my opinion worth the money. |

The DSP feature was improved in the "G" as well. |
