Hello Copper Tech's, I need the alignment procedures for the TX strip in a Uniden PC66XL. Not for peak & tweak, but from the oscillators back to the driver. I have a radio that has decreased RF output below channel 16. The receive seems ok on all channels. If you have a service manual for this radio, would you care to share ? Many thanks in advance. |

1.) TP2 (Pin 7 IC 3) CH 40 adjust L15 to 3.0 VDC. 2.) TP3 (Secondary of L16)CH 40 , Adjust L16 for MAX on Scope. 3.) RX Peak L1 , L2 , L3 , L4 , L5 , L6 and L7. 4.) TXPeak L20 , L17 , L18 , L10 and L14. |

Thanks 307, What do you think about the following: reference osc adj; measure freq at pin2 on pll. adjust vc1 for 10.240mhz. to balance tx output, adjust l16,l17,l18,and l14. after getting carrier power even across the band, check modulated power (swing) as these adjustments can cause this to be uneven if not observed/tuned correctly. usaully only adjusting l10 will cause this problem, but i have seen it when adjusting the other coils listed here(even though carrier power is even). the reason l10 effects this more than the other coils is because it is after the modulated stage, and the other coils are b4. and if you adjust all the coils, including l10, for max power, you have just "peaked" that radio. also only tune into a dummy load. even antennas with good swrs can "show" a difference in power output between 1 and 40 but yet the power will be even into a dummy load. This is a paste from another forum. |

I don't have anything else to reference it to , however it sounds like it is ok other than "b4" , I think he means "before"... |
