Jon666, The MAGNUM S-9 Review should be posted within the next 2 weeks or so here on the Copper Forum. Right now it has over 500 hours of on time on it and over 200 hours of talking with no problems. I spoke with Sam today and I should have the Schematics and Owners Manual on Monday. Copper should have the MAGNUM S-9 Radios on hand within the next 2 weeks. Lon Tech808

Hey Lon, Does the loose knob syndrome plague the S-9 as it does in the other RF Limited radios? |

Joe, Sorry but I have not found that "loose knob syndrome" you mention on our MAGNUM 357DX, MAGNUM OMEGA FORCE S-45 or MAGNUM S-3 or the MAGNUM S-9 that I am doing the Review on. As for the other Magnum Radio's I have not used or owned them as yet so I cannot say. But the 1st Sargant and I are working on getting them all. Lon Tech808 |

Jon, Like I mentioned I have never owned or used a Delta. If your Omega had sloppy knobs you could have wrote or contacted me so I could of issued you an RA Number for the RF LIMITED / MAGNUM INTERNATIONAL, National Repair Shop and they would of fixed it or replaced it for you. Chris at the The National Repair Shop has a 24 hour return time from the time the radio arrives until it is fixed and back on it's way to you. If ANY Copper Forum Member has any problems with any RF LIMITED or MAGNUM INTERNATIONAL product that is purchased from Copper, Mr Sam Lewis has authorized me to issue Copper Forum Members RA Numbers for warranty work. I have mentioned this in many of my posts here on the Copper Forum. If we don't know about a problem then we cant help get the problem fixed. Lon Tech808 Tech808@copperelectronics.com |

I've had a s9 for about two weeks, now. I know what your talking about on the loose knob, if your talking about the channel changing knob? When the radio is cold the radio is difficult to change channels. Be it by design or not when the radio gets fully warmed up[about 15 mins.+-]this situation gets better. This is a very precise radio! As this radio warms up you can watch the frequency counter and see when it is "READY TO ROCK"! as it settles in. |

hmmm, my delta has the 'loose-knob' syndrome, and when i got my S9, certain knobs appeared looser then others. found out why the mode switch knob felt loose just now-nut fell off of it!radio has never been mounted mobile yet, i've taken it with me a few times & set it on the seat while on the beach, to try it out. was in the base, switched from AM to LSB & knob just 'turned'. held knob tight, shut off & unplugged radio. had to remove both covers & whole front of radio to get panel off to get to nut & replace & retighten. all right now, this is the 2nd radio i've 'broken' today-what's going on here? |

if my radio had loose knobs on it i would use a flat head screwdriver to pry the middle slot open a little more. if the potentiometers were the kind without the slot, i would use some rubber cement on them. they will hold in place and you can still get them off if need be. matt |

it's not that the knobs are loose, KV, it's the shafts in the switches/pots seem to have excessive play in them. and in my 1 case, the nut holding the switch to the chassis actually backed off causing the switch to literally fall off. putting it in & tightening it, it still feels as though the switch itself is....sloppy. |
