I just got my copy of QRL Electronics and on the back is a picture of the radio I really like the looks of the IC-706MKIIG , now to me that is a radio, I am looking in the far future to this radio or its newer version, but living in a antenna controlled area CCR"S what kind of Vertical antenna can be used to cover the Frequencys on this radio. I would have to hide it. |

I use a Yaesu FT 920 for HF work. It is my favorite of all the HF radios I've ever owned. I use a Ten Tec transverter with the 920 for all-mode two meter work, and a VX 5 Yaesu HT. My favorite band is 75 meters, where I run a President Grant Classic with a Daiwa CB to HF transverter to allow me to impart plenty of good 'ol AM audio on 3.763 Mc. Folks never believe me when I tell them that I am talking on a CB / Transverter combo, so I just enable the "roger beep" to convince them - Heh, heh! |

I love Kenwood...and I have a TS-480HX (which is a nice rig) but would never trade my TS-940 for anything... |
