I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THIS POWER SUPPLY.WITHOUT A LOAD ON IT IT READS 14.3 VOLTS WHEN YOU PUT A LOAD ON IT IT READS 6 VOLTS.CAN GIVE ME SOME IDEAS WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE. THANKS

most likley the power transisters on the back
those round ones on the back
would be the first place i would check

Is this a problem that has just started or did you get the power supply working like this? I just wondered if there had been any previous repairs done. Last one I had do this I found that the .1 ohm 5 watt resistors off the transistors had been replaced with a .5 ohm. It would show full voltage until you tried to key the radio.

i would start checking voltages
at the input and output
then put a load on it
and check the voltage again

Start at the regulator IC. Could be something else but that is where I would start. Also check any zener diodes for correct voltage.
