Need to know the peaking info for my Voyage VR9000. Also had this hooked up to a Texas Star DX 667v and get nothing but well I don't know what to call it,I'm guessing RF Feedback.Radio sounds B_E_A_U_T_I_F_U_L with out the amp on but the minute I switch it on kaboom the power on the radio shoots up (I think) , doesn't make any sense to me.Anybody ever had such a problem and did turning your radio DOWN power wise solve the prolem? Any help deeply appreciated. Tom |

Sky444 Put a SWR meter between your radio and linear and take a reading. I'm thinking your radio is seeing a high SWR into the amp. If it's over a 2.1, there's a problem with the amp. Don't forget now, with the amp turned ON, your radio is looking at it as if the amp is an antenna. Also, Jon666 has a very good point. You don't need to send a lot of RF into the amp. It already has a driver. 1.5 to 2 watts will be plenty of deadkey-drive since your radio probably has some upwards swing to it anyways. Jeff. |
