While the radio is cool it works fine. When it heats up the radio will make a loud squeal. It will go away when the mic gain is turned almost all the way off.The setup is a 44,102 steel whip,18 ft of rg8x coax and stock mike.Any help would be great. |

the 1st thing to do is replace the limiter if it has been removed. this will help if not eliminate the problem. |

what is the value or number for the tr32? I baught a used 44 and it has the so called super tune and tr32 is missing and I want to replace it.They did the swing mod on r238 with the diode and res, but they had the diode on the left side with the banded end connected to the resistor?? Is this the correct way? |

Lasthighlander Actually, it will work with or without the resistor. The banded end of the diode should be to the right facing the regulator. TR-32 is a very common 2SC-945 switching transistor. You can pull one out of any junk radio. Every CB uses a bunch of them. Jeff Tech548 |
