Just received a kl200v base amp..wont key just chatters..someone said it had to be converted to work THAT IC-2 HAd to be removed ..any ideas..I havent done anything to it...YEt!...thanks |

Are you using the amp on AM or SSB? If you are using the amp on SSB but have the switch in AM mode. The amp may "chatter".

If you pull the cover (with amp off and unplugged) you'll see a little circuit board on the side with an 8 pin chip in a socket. Just carefully remove that chip, don't touch anything else......BAM! Just like that. |

or with my own experience if the radio is not turned down it will do that. mine did |
