What kind of Whip Antenna are you useing and is the Whip or Whip Mounting grounded Well? Please give us More information so that we may be able to help you. With a Whip the Length of Coax should not make a Major difference on SWR. I have ran as much as 12' and as little as 4' with a SWR of Between 1.1 and 1.4 across the band. Lon Tech808 |

Tech808, It is a radio shack 64" whip that is non adjustable except for about an inch with the set screw. the rest of the length is wrapped around the base of the shaft. It is mounted on my pick-up truck tool box behind the drivers seat. I have run a piece or 14 gage copper wire from the mount to the frame. |

619, I remember now, several of your other post's on this Antenna. I would suggest a different antenna or take it back and tell them you cannot get the SWR Down on it and you want a refund or replacement. As I mentioned above Any Length should work, it is hard to give you an Exact Length as you have problem's with the antenna already with what ever length you are useing now. However long it is now start taking a couple feet at a time off of it and see if it help's. IF your SWR goes UP STOP! Lon Tech808 |

i had that same antenna... what i would do is get a "barrel connector" double end female and add a 3 foot peice to it. an that does not work... take the 3' jumper of an add a 6' foot an so on i bet the 6' jumper would do it tho.. thats what i had to add to mine. then i just got rid of it an bought a wilson 1000... |
