Hello Tec 808 I guess I will ask you this question I notice that Copper has a big sale in the Bargain Galore, notice a Saturn Base non working #3081 & Saturn Turbo #3057 & And another Saturn Base with a band or two missing. My question is would any of these raidos be a good deal, getting it repaired, I learned in the past that a good deal can get you burned (BAD)I ask you because when I have asked you questions before you were stright up Thanks a lot: but this questions can go to others also God Bless Wayne CEF158 |

I've also wondered myself why these "Bargain Radios" can not be repaired in their repair facility and then sold as used. They certainly must have enough Techs there. Just curious. Jeff, kc0gxz. |

Wayne: Bargain radio are not always as they seem, First you have the cost of a nonworking radio, then you have the shipping charges. This is only the begining, then you have shipping charges to and from a repair center, which is not cheap, then you have a fat repair charge unless you and the center will agree on a set price for the repairs, therefore it's cheaper in the long run to buy a new radio with a warranty, plus if you can't get a no questions asked warranty don't buy. Hey Yankee. Good post and good thinking| And certainly something that people should take into consideration BEFORE buying any of them. I agree. Buying new "IS" the best way to go. These (above mentioned) radios are not for everyone. They are only for the guys that love to tinker and/or test their skills. Jeff, kc0gxz. |

Thanks Jeff, I needed that, You and I after 40 plus years on the air and doing a lot of repairs and mods. ourselves. You bet a lot of us over the years have learned some hard and costly lessons. Been there done that on what was though to be a good bargain radio turned out to make a good door stop or conversation piece. 73, Yankee |
