i have a vr9000-- an i lost all ears. everything looks fine.. but i was wondering what could be wrong with it... the external speraker where it solder to the board was broke so i solder it back on an still nothing... just wondering this is a brand new radio... any ideas???? |

Complete loss of receive or just receive audio? Did you plug an external speaker in after fixing the jack? |

yes i did plug a external speaker in an there was nothing.. it lost all receive.. i hooked it up to my base antenna an hooked up my ohter radio on a small mobile antenna an there was no audio what so ever.. |

not being smart, but you really didn't answer 181's question. we know there is no audio but does it rx (is the s-meter moving at all?). |

yes it does recieve.. but there is not aduio from either internal/external speaker... i hope that clears it up.. |

Check all your joints and traces first. Especially in the area where the ex/spkr was bad. Beyond that work backwards. Could be an audio amp like Jon said. |

i got the ears back.. the total trace was broke off the board but you could not see it cause of the solder..so i just jumped the external speaker jack to the cap... works great now thnxs for the help everyone
