Prowler242 Do the following modification to "open" the clarifier so both transmit and receive will track together. The following will unlock and keep the "standard" clarifier range: 1- Remove D58. 2- Follow the wire (white or green) from R44 and remove the other end from the PC board and connect it constant +8 volts (IC4 pin 3). This mod will "expand" the clarifier range after it is unlocked: 1- Install a jumper across R175 2- Jumper from R174 #244 side to D51 #246 side. 3- With a frequency counter connected to TP1 and clarifier control in the 12 O'clock position, adjust the following: L23 controls AM = 34.7650 MHz L22 controls LSB = 34.7635 MHz L59 controls USB = 34.7665 MHz There are other ways of doing this and you should be able to find the mods in the archives on this forum. In my opinion, all sideband radios should come with Opened Clarifiers. Jeff, kc0gxz. |

is it just off on the counter like if you are suppose to be on 27.7050 it might say 27.7048...or something like that? if so you might be getting interferance from the VO.. |
