i have a globe LA-1 linear...it needs a selenium rectifier and i cannot find one...well 4 ....takes 4- 65MA-25V ....i read a web site that said i could replace them with....("The selenium bridge rectifier can be easily replaced with a suitably rated silicon diode bridge rectifier that is readily available at just about any local electronics supplier. most probably will also need to add a dropping resistor, to readjust the voltage slightly".) if this is true using the 65MA-25v ...what size silicon diode bridge rectifier should I get....thanks for the help.... clark you can replace them but watch the filter caps. try 4 1000v piv 1 amp diodes remember the voltsge drop across a 1n4xxx type diode is under 1 volt while the seleniums can be 25 volts or more |
