I saw on the net the other day where antron makes a multiband base antenna good for 10-80 meters, has anyone ever used it? If so, how well did it work?
Thanks

It requires a tuner. It is just a wire and some coils inside a fiberglass radome. Nothing special at all.

Pig040,

You are talking about the Anttron 8010 Base Antenna. 80 Meter's thru 10 Meter's

I just finished talking with Sammie and Ken does not have the ANTTRON 305 or the ANTTRON 8010 Model into production as yet.

I will keep everyone updated when I hear that they are due out again.

Yep, that is the antenna I saw on the net, the 8010. I just wondered about the performance of an antenna like this compared to like an inverted V wire antenna. Would the 8010 be a quarter wave, or what?

Over a fan of ground wires, a vertical like the 8010 is hard to beat.

Check out the reviews, sounds like it works good on 10m-20m and not so well on 40m and even worse on 80m.

Thanks for that crafter, after reading those reviews, guess I am gonna keep looking, as the band I am interested in is 80m. Might have to try to string a wire, I have heard, some swear by the inverted V others say do a loop, which would be better? Thanks for any info.
