Whats the difference between the EPT360013b and the EPT360014b ? I'm playing around with an old Connex 3300 (EPT360013b) and can't find any useful tech info on this radio. There's plenty of info out there on the EPT360014b - but mines a 360013b. Where there any other radios that used the EPT360013b and would their tech info be the same for this radio? Any advice? |

i use the 360014b schem for all 3600 boards, even the older ones. there is not a whole lot of difference and after a while of studying the board, you'll get the hang of the small differences. to be honest the differences are so small, i can't really tell you where they are right off hand (plus the fact that i have not had an older 3600 board for a while contributes to my loss of memory). |

Thanks for the info Tech8541. I got this radio from my brother. Someone he works with gave it to him free. From all on air reports the radio sounds good. Everything works except for the light in the meter. I'm looking for a good tech to peak and tune this radio for me (hint - hint). I did notice however that R246 and R249 had been cut - in your opinion will this affect the overall performance of this radio once it is peaked and tuned? Thanks |

removing both r246 and r249 is like cutting your break line on your car in 2 different places. once it was cut the 1st time, it was disabled. the 2nd cut does absolutely nothing. as far as performance, these removed parts will not allow the radio to any more power than it could do with them in the circuit. you just have no breaks on the modulating audio now. it is always wide open. this means bleedover and a higher level of distortion. i never remove any parts of the amc. i will adjust the amc control for slightly higher than 100% modulation (you have to make people happy, and money talks). |
