HELLO Tech: No Tx (No carrier/modulation). Only strong signal/audio picked up on RX (same signal/audio on all 40 channels regardless of channel selector position. RX audio louder when NB/AL on off. Get speaker squeal when touching solder side of audio chip. Mic and speaker ok. Have checked for good soldering overall.Using external speaker. Electrolytic caps? Have tested 119 & 122 caps. Advice/sugestions on what/where to check/test next. Pll chip suspect? Need help....thanks Toolman29 |

Have you hooked it up to a frequency counter to see if it is actually on the same freq on all channels? |

sorry, no one part comes to my mind right now. the fact that you have no tx and the rx is acting crazy -could- be a pll related issue. like c.bally asked, do you have a freq counter? |

Sounds like you may want to try to resolder the VCO area. The waxy area on the left on the componet side. But make sure it is off freq with a counter as well. |
