Could you please tell me what compatable mics are for this radio. What mic wiring if any are compatable for it.
Also could you please tell me what the wiring is because I would imagine I will have to wire accouple mics for it.
I purchased a JC Penny Desk mic on Ebay the other day. They claim that it is new in the box. I read on the box in the photograph that it is a "pre amplified" mic. Is that different from modulated microphone? Do you think that this mic will be compatable with the Robyn T240 D? Your opinion is appretiated. Thank you

I have been told that their is power in the microphone connection, is that for a a modulated microphone and replaces the nine volt battery. I know that this is a question that you have to do research for, I am sorry. I don't have any shops around here within near 100 miles. I have a JC Penny (pre amplified) microphone. Purchased it new in the box. Will it be able to be applied to this radio? Thank you for your assistance.

Ok, I have received the Robyn T-240-D from the seller. I don't understand how radios can look this good and be so old. This radio looks and operated like it was just unpackaged from factory. Even has that new radio smell. I would like to purchase a new mic from copper and have it wired at copper. I would like a nice clean sounding mic. I don't need it to be "extremely loud", but have more interest in it being very clean sounding. What microphone does copper sell that would fit this bill that is a power mic and will wire into the Robyn T240D, since there is power in the mic connection, I assume that the power will come directly from the radio itself. Please advise, I would like to order a mic prewired as soon as possible. Thanks

Sitm,

THe Wiring I posted above is the Wiring that needs to be used if you pick any of the Astatic Power Microphone's.

Or it can be used as a GUIDE for other Power Microphone's as well.

When you choose a Microphone and place the Order be sure to State you need it Wired for the Robyn 240D and you will have no problem's.

Hope this help's.

I received the mic, tried it. It didn't work on the radio. I checked the wire diagram that you have up above. It was exactly that way. I rewired it to another radio. It worked fine. I contacted the seller and he promises that the radio works. He had a D104 desk mic. Now is it possible that there are different wiring for the Robyn radio's??

Sitm,

Question?

Has this Radio Ever worked since you got it?

In one post you said it was wired by the In House Copper Tech Exactly as I suggesed the wiring should be.

If the Mic is wired Correctly, I need to know has it worked since you received the Radio at all with any Mic attached to it.

Although the person who sold it to you can have a Perfect Feed Back Rating, anything could have happened to it during shipping.

If you just got the radio and it has NEVER Worked then I would get ahold of the seller and he should of had shipping insurance on it, if you paid for it.

From what I read above the Problem is not in the MIC but the Radio.

I contacted the tech at copper, he suggested a slightly different wiring schematic than you. I will try it later.

Sitm,

Here is the ASTATIC Site for the Robyn 240D Radio.

http://www.astatic.com/cb/hookup/robyn.htm

As for wiring Other Mics to it you will have to use it as a guide.

Once again, HAS THIS RADIO EVER WORKED since you got it?

And did it work with the Mic that came with it when you bought it?

Just curious.
